Mental Health Awareness

mental health ambassadors program

In the month of May 2021, Latino Equality Alliance launched a mental health ambassadors program to encourage community members to share posts on social media related to mental health and available resources. For physical copies of the poster featured below, please contact our Community Organizer, Jasine Cumplido (jasine@somoslea.org).

Mental Health for BIPOC and LGBTQ+ people is a process that must be approached with care and understanding. We cannot leave out the forces of racism, queerphobia, transphobia and other systems of oppression that inflict harm on to QTPOC communities in our work around mental health. An intersectional framework is necessary when addressing the mental health of the LGBTQ+ community. Below is a compilation of resources specialized for the many different identities and intersections of our community.
