RECLA's mission is to ensure the well-being and safety of LGBTQ+ students by holding LAUSD accountable for implementing policies and allocating resources that transform cultural and structural systems to end transphobia, homophobia, white supremacy and cis-heteropatriarchy. We are a grassroots campaign led by educators, students, parents, and community members with a mission to create safer and more inclusive environments for all students in LAUSD schools.

History​

RECLA was founded in 2019, to ensure accountability and implementation of LAUSD resolutions and policies in support for LGBTQ+ youth. The anchor organizations and its coalition members work together to advocate for the following demands:

CAmpaign Demands​

• Creating a district wide accountability network
• Having goals/objectives in schools "Single Plan for Student Achievement"
• See budgetary investments in programs and resources ​
