Great News! The 7th Annual Purple Lily Awards will be held in person again on Thursday, June 23, 2022! I am excited to serve as the Committee Chair this year and to work with a terrific team of LEA staff, board members and community supporters to produce a fun event for us to enjoy. Besides being fun, this fundraising event is an important way to help fund the critical community-based youth and family programs that make LEA’s work unique -- Special thanks to our sponsors and supporters like you!
Pride season is a time to pause and acknowledge our perseverance over COVID and other health and social justice battles. It is also a wonderful opportunity to celebrate unsung community leaders who have stepped up with their personal and professional actions to help make our collective struggle for equality and equity more strategic, passionate, visible and impactful. We invite you to join us in acknowledging them for their community service and leadership.
This year we are especially honored to recognize the life achievements of our very own Butch Lesbiana “Nancy from Eastside Clover” who celebrates her 90th birthday this year. Her experience fighting homophobia, police and other systemic oppressors since the 1950s helped pave the way for us – join us to thank this true leader in person!
